'Game Of Thrones' producers apologise about Hodor

Kristian Nairn

"We'd like to apologise for Sunday's episode", Weiss said.

Spoilers follow below, on the off chance that you've somehow survived nearly an entire work week without seeing any Game of Thrones spoilers. Instead, they are sorry for what is now happening because of his demise.

Fans left shocked by the big Hodor (Kristian Nairn) reveal earlier this week on Game of Thrones are set to be in for another big moment when they read the books.

The pair appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live this Tuesday night and genuinely apologized for something that happened in the latest episode "The Door".

"We had this meeting with George Martin where we're trying to get as much information as possible out of him", Benioff said. "We're sorry for all the idiots that, from now on, will be shouting 'Hodor!' every time you go through a door". Martin has known the meaning behind Hodor's name since introducing the character in the first book of the saga. This caused Wylis to have a seizure that made him repeat the phrase over and over again, until it was shortened to "Hodor".

YouTube user Turps shared a video of himself calling out for Nairn to hold the elevator door following a screening of the Warcraft movie Wednesday.

As for the final moment, Benioff ominously teased it "is from the very end..." - and we already have a bunch of theories as to what that could be! "I just remember Dan and I looking at each other when he said that, just being like, 'Holy shit'".

"It's implied. So who knows?"

"My favorite part is it ties up the question of why is Hodor "Hodor.' Why does he say the word 'Hodor"?"

"He may come back as a White Walker, maybe he got away".

"Game of Thrones" airs Sundays at 9 p.m./8c on HBO. But it's right: you shouldn't Hodor on the subway.
