Former Disney child star arrested for 'robbing a bank and fleeing police'

Joey Cramer, who was the star of one of the best movies from soooo many childhoods, Flight of the Navigator, was arrested and charged with four offenses in connection to the robbery of a bank near Sechelt on the Sunshine Coast.

Police said the 42-year-old Cramer took police on a high-speed auto chase days after he held up a bank 30 miles northwest of Vancouver.

The 42-year-old former actor was arrested following the incident on the Scotiabank in Sechelt, which took place on April 28.

Cramer was charged with wearing a disguise with the intent to commit an indictable offence, along with failing to stop for a peace officer and risky operation of a motor vehicle during his alleged getaway attempt.

Despite using a disguise during the robbery, some police officers have quickly identified him following a recent dealing with him on a non related matter, reports SF Gate quoting Constable Harrison Mohr.

However, things have taken a darker turn for the former child-star, as he was arrested for robbing a bank in British Columbia, Canada.

He fled the bank on foot and was captured on Sunday, following a police chase. "We hope that he community feels safer now that the suspect has been apprehended".

Cramer was arrested on May 1, and will appear in Sechelt Provincial Court later today (May 4).

Joey Cramer made his feature film debut in 1984's Runaway, where he played the son of Tom Selleck's lead character.

The actor found fame when he starred as David Freeman, who was abducted by aliens, in the 1986 movie.
