Wade, Heat force Game 7 with 97-90 win over Hornets

Charlotte Hornets guard Jeremy Lin (7) drives past Brooklyn Nets guard Jarrett Jack (2) during the first half of the game at Time Warner Cable Arena.

Dwyane Wade isn't his former self. The Hornets are looking to win their first playoff series since 2002. Wade's point is that the National Basketball Association needs to acknowledge that games are called differently late, something that he personally has no problem with.

Clifford's confidence paid off immediately. Walker attacked the lane and scored from deep and Kaminsky did the same.

Miami averaged 119 points in the first two games, but hasnt even reached 90 since.

The Miami Charlotte game tonight gets underway shortly after the Toronto Indiana game does, though this one gets wider TV coverage on ESPN. Everything else was business as usual for both sides entering the second quarter. Veteran SG Dwyane Wade led the team offensively with a game-high 25 points along with 6 rebounds and 3 assists.

With the muffled sounds of Al Jefferson talking up his teammate's big performance emanating through a thicket of reporters, Walker stripped down to his black base layer and directed his solemn gaze down to the floor. All Whiteside did was stack up blocks and rebounds.

Charlotte is making it a priority to stop Hassan Whiteside.

Another slowdown for the Hornets was the defense on Lin. Game 6 is Friday night.

The Blazers appeared to pull away when McCollum's 3-pointer made it 98-91 with 4:49 left, but the Clippers persisted. Much like during the regular season, both teams have won on the road in the series. Deng and Wade led the way, combining for 29 points on 13-of-19 shooting and the Heat outrebounded the Hornets 23-11. "Let the fans know about ref discipline". He was -15 and Batum was -11. The Heat came up empty on the ensuing possession, rookie Josh Richardson trying a 30-footer with about 3 seconds left on the shot clock that was an airball, and Lee got an offensive rebound and eventually hit the 3 on Charlotte's next trip. Paul broke a bone in his right hand in the third quarter of the Clippers' Game 4 loss at Portland. Charlotte is the worst team in terms of blocking, with 5.2 per game.

By contrast, the Charlotte Hornets only had three players score in double digits. A lot of things are in-the-moment plays and calls, and it's easy to go back and do Monday morning quarterback things.

The fourth quarter produced all kinds of trouble for the Hornets. Lee got the block, but the Heat thought Wade was hacked.

This game would have been academic by halfway through the fourth if not for Kemba's Herculean effort. "That doesn't help if they disagree and say it should have been a foul". But, it was an old man who turned the game on its head. He's appeared in five playoff games for Charlotte with averages of 3.6 points and 3.2 rebounds in 10.6 minutes per game.

This time, Lee went back up and drained a 3-pointer with 28.9 seconds left, leading the Charlotte Hornets to a 90-88 victory over the Miami Heat on Wednesday at AmericanAirlines Arena.

The Hornets aren't blowing out the Heat - they've won game 3 by 16 points, but 4 & 5 by combined six points.
