Cleveland Browns listening to teams in hunt for Ezekiel Elliott

After the Raiders brought in Kelechi Osemele and re-signed Donald Penn earlier this offseason, many analysts and fans alike have written off offensive tackle as a first-round option, but the Raiders' coaching staff has reportedly kept their minds open to solidifying their offensive line in this year's draft.

General manager John Schneider have said that this draft is the deepest since he and coach Pete Carroll joined the franchise in 2010.

Any team that takes a risk on Connor Cook in the NFL Draft could end up getting a steal. I have far more intel on the "where" than the "when" - as an example, I just can't control the fact that New England has zero picks between 96 and 196, but I do think Charone Peake would be a good fit there.

According to Pro Football Talk's Draft Value chart, Cleveland should be able to swing a trade like its first- (8th overall) and one of it's third-round (from Philly - 77th overall) picks for Miami's first (13th overall) and second (42nd overall) selections.

Because of Austin Howard's improvement towards the tail end of last season, Conklin would have to compete with both Howard and former second-round pick Menelik Watson for the starting right tackle spot, but the competition would hopefully lead to better play regardless of who came out on top. A team like the Dolphins might want to come up for running back Ezekiel Elliott, or the Tennessee Titans at No. 15 may covet an offensive tackle. The Cleveland Browns at No. 8 are in a prime position to trade down. But the Rebels could have as many as three first-rounders this year: DL Robert Nkemdiche, WR Laquon Treadwell and OT Laremy Tunsil. Now there are questions of whether Ronnie Stanley of Notre Dame goes ahead of him.

If those projections are on target, Goodson can expect to hear his name called on either Day 2 of the draft (Friday) or Day 3 (Saturday).

Alabama has had a first-rounder in each of the past seven drafts, the longest current streak. The SEC had seven, which also snapped a four-year streak of the league having double-digit picks in the first round. Vandy might not have a player drafted at all, much less in the first round.

During his junior year of high school, Lawson's life changed when his father was killed in a wreck, thrusting Lawson into a more active role taking care of his siblings. Jones joined other draft invitees at the NFL Play 60 youth event in Grant Park Wednesday. One out of the ordinary team that could get multiple picks this year is Southern Utah, with safety Miles Killebrew, pass rusher James Cowser and cornerback LeShaun Sims.
