Crystal Palace boss Alan Pardew counting on Emmanuel Adebayor

Alan Pardew has insisted he will not select a weakened team for Crystal Palace's Premier League game at Manchester United on Wednesday, despite the club's focus being very much fixed upon a first FA Cup semi-final in 21 years this weekend.

The two sides have avoided each other in the semi-final draw with United facing Everton and Palace playing Watford in the last-four ties at Wembley this coming weekend.

"And they are both heavy and aggressive players, who are quick, and that does make them more prone to injuries than most players".

United midfielder Juan Mata has no problem fighting on two fronts, with the Spaniard saying: "We want to be lifting this historic trophy".

How to follow the match: Wednesday's Barclays Premier League encounter at Old Trafford will kick off at 20:00 BST.

Adebayaor, who has 97 Premier League career goals, spent a lengthy spell on the sidelines after being released by Tottenham in September previous year. They are four points below Arsenal and Manchester City. We have been unlucky up there at Old Trafford in the last three seasons, so if we get a win or draw then it's wrapped up then (fighting off the threat of relegation).

Asked whether McArthur could appear against Watford Pardew said he would, "If he can come through (against United), which I think he can, so we will see".

According to the South London Press, Pardew told reporters: "It definitely looks like we need to strengthen the squad".

"We have been flat out to prepare for our next games so, really and truly, if you asked me at the start of the week, I would say I have been too busy to really enjoy that win against Norwich". Trying to keep a lid on Rashford will be Palace centre-back, Scott Dann. Palace have injury concerns over Scott Dann, Dwight Gayle, James McArthur, Brede Hangeland, Marouane Chamakh, James McArthur and Kwesi Appiah.

Pardew said Adebayor was desperate to play against old club Arsenal.

He has played all but one of Palace's league games this season and has scored an impressive five goals, meaning he is the Eagles joint second top scorer this season, only Yohan Cabaye has more (six).
