The new Mahindra NuvoSport Launch of the SUV model is sporty and stylish looking vehicle comes with a tag "Do it all".

The all new Mahindra NuvoSport Launch event will be held on 4th of April, 2016 at 12.15 PM.

Whether the company expects some cannibalisation of its another successful model, the TUV300, which also comes with a 1.5-litre diesel engine but at considerably lower price points, Vivek Nair, marketing head, said "both the vehicles are positioned differently".

On the rear profile, the only obvious change is the blackened taillamp and a new cover for the spare which is mounted on the tailgate.

Moving to the profile of the NuvoSport, it gets more or less the same silhouette of the Quanto on first appearance. The NuvoSport is available at Mahindra dealerships across India and is being sold at Rs. 7.35 lakhs (ex-showroom Thane for N4 variant). In the power mode, the engine is capable of producing 100bhp of max power and 240Nm of peak torque. On the safety front, the mini SUV is equipped with dual airbags, ABS and EBD. The SUV has also grown taller by 10mm, improving cabin space. A five-speed AMT gearbox is available as an option. Though the TUV300 and NuvoSport are dangerously close to each other in terms of marketing positioning, Mahindra is confident that there won't be high level of cannibalization since they appeal to different tastes. The SUV returns an ARAI certified fuel efficiency figure of 17.5Km/l.

Mahindra has built the Nuvosport on the ladder frame chassis, which performs very well off-road, they have taken care of the city driving condition as well, with a good suspension system.

The SUV will compete with the likes of Ford EcoSport, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Renault Duster etc. The new compact SUV is expected to replace Mahindra Quanto.
