Vegas police investigating Chris Brown for alleged battery

Chris Brown

Police say the woman said she was struck by Brown and that he had taken her cellphone.

She added that Brown had returned to Los Angeles from Las Vegas, where he performed at Drai's Night Club on Friday night.

The alleged victim, Liziane Gutierrez, told TMZ she was at a private party in Brown's suite at the Palms Hotel in Vegas early Saturday morning.

Officers who went to the hotel to investigate the reported attack found the woman appeared to have minor injuries, but Brown had already left the hotel and they could not speak to him, the police statement said.

Meanwhile, the alleged incident comes less than a year after the rapper was accused of punching a man during a basketball game at the Palms Casino Resort last April. A woman named Liziane Gutierrez claims Breezy 2-pieced her in the eye when she tried to snap a pic of him at a private party.

A representative for Brown told the Hollywood Reporter the claims were "undeniably untrue", and it could have been retaliation for being thrown out of the party for "disruptive and out of control" behavior.

Brown hit back at the claims, his publicist labelling the woman's version of events as "unequivocally untrue".

In June that year, he pleaded guilty to felony assault and was placed on probation as well as being ordered to do community service and attend domestic violence counseling. Saturday and the investigation is ongoing. "The Palms Casino Resort security also saw her wild behaviour via hotel security cameras and immediately came up to the hallway to escort her out of the hotel". She is said to have had a meltdown while waiting in the hallway for Brown so she could take his picture with her phone, and that she threw down her purse and claimed she could buy everyone there.

Brown was convicted of assaulting Rihanna in 2009, eventually accepting a plea deal that included a restraining order and six months of community service.
