Trevone Boykin has been suspended for the Alamo Bowl.

Texas Christian University quarterback Trevone Boykin was arrested Thursday morning following an incident at a San Antonio bar.

News 4 San Antonio learned Boykin was arrested for his involvement in a bar fight early Thursday morning that culminated in him striking a police officer.

Authorities told multiple media outlets that Boykin, 22, and some teammates were in an establishment named Pat O'Brien's just before 2 a.m. when some patrons recognized the quarterback and began to trash talk.

As security worked to stop the fight, people were moved outside.

At that point, police say, bike officers arrived and came upon Boykin as he was taking swings.

Boykin reportedly only calmed down after being threatened with a taser. Once brought outside, he again took another swing and this time allegedly struck a police officer. There's no word yet on potential punishment for the signal-caller.

Police tried to arrest Boykin, but he resisted, causing police to force him to the ground, ESPN reported. TCU officials said in a statement that they are aware of the situation and will "closely monitor" it and "evaluate additional details as they become available".

In his four seasons with the Horned Frogs, Boykin has accounted for 110 touchdowns passing and rushing and more than 12,000 total yards, both of which are school records. The Dallas native was a second-team All-American last season.
