Patriots lose another player to injury as Sebastian Vollmer is carted off

New England Patriots running back Joey Iosefa runs from Tennessee Titans cornerback Coty Sensabaugh and linebacker David Bass in the first half of an NFL football game Sunday Dec. 20 2015 in Foxborough Mass

Tuesday about their starting tackle.

The early word on the injury Patriots tackle Sebastian Vollmer's suffered during last Sunday's loss against the Jets was that he was dealing with a sprained ankle and had an MRI scheduled for early this week. Nate Solder was lost to the season with a torn bicep in October.

The Patriots (12-3) have already clinched the AFC East and a first-round bye in the playoffs. James White, Brandon Bolden, Steven Jackson and Joey Iosefa were all active on Sunday and saw time on the field, but the Patriots don't seem to need four backs each week.

Vollmer is the second starting left tackle the team to be injured.

Minutes later, the Patriots announced Vollmer was out for the game.

This team has been absolutely ravaged by injury this season, losing key players pretty much every week.

The depleted offense is also expecting wide receivers Danny Amendola and Julian Edelman back for the playoffs.
