Tuscaloosa father accused of trying to shoot son

A 63-year-old Tuscaloosa man is behind bars, accused of shooting at his son Monday night.

According to the Tuscaloosa County Homicide Unit, police called the unit to a shooting in the 2000 block of 14th Street East late Monday night.

"The father stated that his son had disrespected him", Hart said. He identified his father as Johnny Craig.

The son was uninjured and no structures or vehicles were struck.

Craig had left the scene and was stopped on University Boulevard by patrol officers shortly after the shooting.

Police took Craig into custody and found a gun on him. After they interviewed Craig, officers charged him with attempted murder on a $25,000 bond.
