Odell Beckham Jr.'s One-Game Suspension Upheld, Will Miss Giants-Vikings

After a fight-filled football game on Sunday between the Giants and Panthers, New York receiver Odell Beckham, Jr., was suspended one game for multiple violations of player safety. If Beckham's appeal is turned down, the Giants will be without their best offensive option. The Panthers' defensive backs were also flagged, but Beckham's actions seemed more excessive, particularly when he rushed across the field to deliver a helmet-to-helmet hit on Norman at the end of a run play in which neither was involved.

Beckham is not allowed to attend practices or have any contact with the Giants, apart from arrangements for off-site medical procedures or physical therapy, until his reinstatement on Monday.

"If you think (Beckham is) the only individual wrong in this situation, you're naïve", Coughlin added.

"To depict this as Odell Beckham being wrong, and the only one wrong, is not right", Coughlin said.

"I owe some people an apology", second-year player Beckham said in a statement issued by the club after the ruling.

Beckham, meanwhile, is expected to be in Manhattan Wednesday for his appeal hearing at the National Football League offices, which is scheduled to begin at noon.

Punter Brad Wing is a close friend of Beckham's - they played together at LSU - and Wing was on the field when all the pregame Panthers antics were going on with the baseball bat carried by practice squad player Marcus Ball.

In his Wednesday press conference, Coughlin said it is unfair that Beckham is bearing most of the responsibility when he was clearly provoked. Hali hasn't been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Browns.

The reports indicate that Norman will get a fine of $8,681 due to a facemask penalty, and he'll also get a fine of $17,363 for hitting Beckham in the area of the head and neck.

"I think that's any athlete's mindset", said Osweiler, who will make his sixth consecutive start Monday night against the Cincinnati Bengals. And Jerry Reese, who drafted me and gave me the opportunity to be a part of this organization. "They had spoken to the players", Blandino said.

Carolina Panthers cornerback Josh Normanhas were fined a combined $26,044 for two offenses in Sunday's win over the New York Giants, according to sources.

Just after the news of his suspension broke, Beckham tweeted an apology for his actions, saying he "dropped the ball on sportsmanship".
